San Francisco 49ers: Aaron Rodgers
The NFFL mock draft begins!
For the first time in a long time, it seems like no one knows who will get picked with the first pick. Even the team that has it. No one has seperated themselves from the pack, so the 49ers couldn't trade the pick even if they wanted to. And they want to. But since they can't, where do they go? I have a feeling that the quality that San Fran most desires has nothing to do with a player's arm strength or foot speed. It will be signability. Who can they get for the most economical amount. If the QBs are smart, they will haggle with the 49ers. Otherwise, the leftover might slip past Miami, Arizona, and completely out of the top 10. #1 money, even at sale price, will be a lot better than #16 overall money or worse.
There's not much difference between Rodgers and Smith, I just get the feeling Rodgers is a safer pick. He played college ball against tougher competition and not too far from San Francisco. People close to the draft rave about his intangibles and I think that would give the edge to the former Cal Bear.
The Miami Dolphins are on the clock. Your turn. :)
Woody!

The Cleveland Browns select QB Alex Smith with their pick.
With the 5th pick in the 2005 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Bucs select Carnell Williams. Jon Gruden loved this guy so much, there's even allegations of player tampering to keep Cadillac from playing durin ghte Senior Bowl.

With the 6th pick in the NFL draft Tennessee selects WR Mike Williams from USC.
This is a surprise curve in the draft. But Mason is gone and the Titans decide to give McNair another tartget.
Minnesota is on the clock (From Oakland - Moss Trade)
Oh, boy. As if Minnesota didn't have enough problems getting to the podium on time. Now that Williams and Edwards are off the board, it's gonna be tough for them in crunch time. Do they stay with a receiver and reach for Troy Williamson? Can they make Shawne Merriman work in their system? What about a corner?
Minnesota eventually gets around to picking Derrick Johnson, linebacker from Texas, the best LB prospect out there.
The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock.
With the 9th selection in the 2005 NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select Adam Jones, cornerback from West Virginia. Joe Gibbs needs Pac-Man to fill the void left by Fred Smoot.
